Women liked to decorate their vast households to show the extent of their wealth, when decorating bedrooms they would cover their beads with woven mats and they would have stone or wooden bamboo chests that stored linen. They especially loved clothing, jewelry, and makeup. The most popular thing women liked was dazzling blue pottery called faience, they also collected white stone jars made of alabaster, and they possessed huge bathrooms in which they “revived” themselves. Those rooms featured indoor plumbing and included a toilet made of stone with wooden seats and the opening had a tray of sand placed inside in which servants would change daily. Enhancing comfort at night a tray of sand was also placed beside the bed for nighttime purposes, unlike them peasant women had to go to the bathroom they used primitive outdoor rooms when available, otherwise they would relieve themselves whenever and wherever they could as so little space was available!
Rich women were also more advanced in education and had a better chance at a getting a job as poor families often could not afford to send their kids to school. Though middle class and wealthy families children were often educated and sent to school because they could afford to, there are even records of women becoming physicians so the opportunity for women to become educated was there. Although after rich women were educated and married they chose not to take a job and settle down in their vast estates. Some jobs for middle-class women were pretty regular to now some jobs consisted of; hairdresser, composer, steward, priestess and dancer only high ranking important women could become a priestess working in the temple was considered an honor.
