They could also be involved with business and medicine. They enjoyed the counterparts of marriage. A man was supposed to serve for his family but a woman did most of the work! They were responsible for the house and children. They could also divorce which was rare among other societies. Divorcing was a very quiet business a court was almost never needed but divorce was very common, all the woman had to do was pack up and go home to her parents but marrying had it’s benefits even though women were allowed to work outside of home and build wealth own slaves, money, livestock, and goods when her husband died she would inherit a 3rd of his riches! Women could also sue and legal rights extended to them on most occasions.

A poor Women’s day began before dawn when she got up from her mattress or sleeping and because of the hot climate in egypt slept on their roof or the top of their houses to get the cool night breeze they then went to begin preparing the meal for himself and their family poor egyptian people usually ate cereal or grain families usually ate separately in the morning then she bathed and get dressed in preparation for the day first they went to a nearby stream and had a proper bath using a mixture of animal fat and soap ash for actual soap they used turpentine and intense for deodorant and then they made a simple white dress made of course and linen it was a peasant woman's job to make clothes for the family and herself sometimes she would work with other women when weaving and they would weave together women could make sandals, clothing,and other items sometimes if it was really hot the women would hang thick awnings on a pole to protect themselves from the harsh heat and sunlight
Life in Egypt was probably the hardest for peasant women nearly 80% of Egypt was made of peasants. One thing most poor women did was cooking, the food that they cooked was farmed by themselves. The hardest job peasant women had was baking bread. They made bread from Emmer wheat and Barley crops they were the main crops that peasants most easily acquired. Archeologists discovered different recipes for bread and there were more than 50 bread types. Women could only cook with a few tools clay pots, bone spoons, and stone knives. When needing water peasant women also made the most consumed drink in Egypt it is called beer, it was the most healthy and safe drink in Egypt because it killed all of the bacteria. When needing water the peasant women had to walk to the Nile or tributaries and the nile also had a lot of bacteria in the river. A myth is that Osiris taught humans how to make beer was often used in religious ceremonies and as the main mealtime beverage.
